Tyrone Power is related to Evelyn Waugh through his great-great-grandmother, Elizabeth (Eliza) Lavenu, who married again after the death of her husband, Lewis Lavenu (great-grandfather of Tyrone Power II), to an Italian violinist, Nicholas Mori. Elizabeth's daughter by Nicholas, Elizabeth Maria Mori, married Francis Waugh(born 1822-5)who was the nephew of James Hay Waugh, great-grandfather of Evelyn.

Ty's sexuality by Marilyn Monroe, by Truman Capote

In Truman Capote's essay over Marilyn Monroe, "A Beautiful Child" (first appeared in Music for Chameleons), Marilyn tells him that she already knew about Errol Flynn's homosexuality because her masseusse ("she is like a sister to me") told her of the affair between Flynn and Tyrone Power. The meeting between Monroe and Capote, according to the story, happened on April 28th, 1955. I think that's a testimony to consider. Nazroon 07:09, 15 November 2007 (UTC)

---If Wikipedia insists that that anecdote be included because it appeared in print, fine, but that is obviously a third-hand story and not "testimony." In the Barry Paris biography of Greta Garbo, author Peter Viertel, who knew both actors and was present on the set of "The Sun Also Rises" as he wrote the screenplay, was adamant that there was never any affair. It is stated in the book "All Those Tomorrows" that "Errol Flynn's biggest problem was that he could not keep his hands off of teenaged girls." This has been documented; there is no direct evidence anywhere of Errol Flynn's homosexuality let alone bisexuality.Chandler75 23:52, 30 November 2007 (UTC)

This is according to Truman Capote 30 years later? Who heard it from Marilyn Monroe? Who heard it from her masseuse? Get a life, please. Look, I'm not doubting the sincerity of any of those named people, but really, this has ZERO value as any form of "evidence" of either Flynn's or Power's sexuality. In the Wikipedia context, it is in fact highly pointful. We depend on WP:Secondary sources. What we have here is a quaternary source based on hearsay after hearsay after hearsay. Chinese whispers. Tyrone's bisexuality: Bob Monkhouse's obituary/claims of repelling his advances

According to Bob Monkhouse's obituary from The Daily Telegraph in 2003, which in turn cites his 1994 autobiography "Crying With Laughter", Bob mentioned "repelling" Tyrone's advances. I don't know the validity of these claims but I thought it could be discussed?

"I used to chase women, but I had to work at it," he said. "I never had anyone throwing themselves at me." But, Monkhouse maintained, not all the chasing was on his side. As well as Howerd, he also found himself repelling advances from Tyrone Power.

---This has been brought up before. Tyrone Power was probably bisexual; whether he was attracted to Bob Monkhouse, who knows. Myself, I doubt it's true, but there's no way to know. For a man who was married three times, had affairs with Sonia Henie, Judy Garland, Lana Turner, Anita Ekberg, Mary Roblee, Mai Zetterling, and got a woman pregnant during the filming of Jesse James etc. he certainly got around. Why is there no mention of her fatal 1945 accident at Powers' home? With its attendant worldwide press coverage, I'd have thought it would rate as a pretty significant occurrence in his life.Vegan4Life (talk) 17:58, 27 May 2021 (UTC)
